Those Who Accept Christ Jesus as Savior are Adopted

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Adrian via email asked me profound question; how can a person be a child of God?

Something you may not have thought about is that everyone who repents of their sins and accepts Christ Jesus as their savior is adopted into God’s family (Ephesians 1:4–5). Thus, this makes everyone in God’s family, sons, and daughters of God (1 John 3:1–2).

We who have repented of our sins and accepted Christ Jesus as our savior are brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus and are God’s family. As adopted children, we enter into a new relationship with God.

Though we were chosen before the foundation of the world (Ephesians 1:4), we lived as an enemy of God up to the moment of our salvation (Ephesians 2:1–2). At our conversion, we were adopted into God’s family as His children through Jesus Christ. We have a new identity—the sons and daughters of God.

To everyone who repents and confesses Christ Jesus as Savior, the eternal God is our Father (1 John 3:1–2). So, who you are Adrian (and everyone else who has repented and accepted Christ Jesus as Savior) is someone chosen by God as an adopted son (or daughter) of God, a child of the infinite Creator of the universe and all in it.

If you have yet to repent of your sins and accept Christ Jesus as your Savior, why not do so today?

‘If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is LORD,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.’ Romans 10:9-10
