The Christian Cross is Offensive!

Reading Time: 6 minutes

How you think about God profoundly impacts how you relate to God.

Whether or not you believe in God or not, it is your choice in how you want to think and relate to God. If you think positively of God, you will relate well with God. If you think negatively about God, then you will relate negatively to God. Your choice of how you think about and relate to God directly impacts your actions and each of your actions have consequences which affect not only you but others around you and not only affect these people now but may do so for years to come and even for eternity.

What does the Christian Cross Represent

The Christian Cross signifies (regardless of if you believe in God or not) that God loves mankind and wants mankind to be with Him in Heaven. Regardless of if you believe in God or not, the whole Bible (Old Testament and New Testament) teaches that God loves you and me so much that He let His only begotten Son (Christ Jesus) come to earth as fully man to live a perfect life without sin; to suffer and die on a cross for the sins of you and me; and then rose from death so that whosoever believes in Him doing this for us will be seen by God as perfect thus being able to be in Heaven forever with God. John 3:16 – Romans 5:8

The Christian Cross signifies (regardless of if you believe in God or not) that mankind is not perfect. Being imperfect mankind is prone to knowingly do things they shouldn’t and knowingly not do things they know they should. God in the Bible calls this sin as seeing that we knowingly do it, we are offending Him as God because God is perfect and imperfection cannot be near Him nor tolerated by God. “For the wages of sin is death; but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23 ASV

The Christian Cross signifies (regardless of if you believe in God or not) that mankind being imperfect needs a savior. Regardless of if you believe in God or not, the whole Bible (Old Testament and New Testament) that mankind can never do anything worthy enough to pay the debt we owe God due to the sinning each one of us (you and me) do within our lifetime which offends God.

The Christian Cross signifies (regardless of if you believe in God or not) hope of a future without pain and suffering. Regardless of if you believe in God or not, the whole Bible (Old Testament and New Testament) teaches that Christ Jesus’ suffering and death on the cross and His resurrection from death is a free gift of salvation to everyone who accepts it. To those people who accept God’s gift of salvation, comes God’s promise of a future without pain and suffering.

The Christian Cross is Offensive

A recent example of the Christian Cross being said offensive comes from an atheist religious group named American Atheists. The atheist religious group, American Atheists sued over the inclusion of cross-shaped steel beams, dubbed the “World Trade Center Cross,” in the exhibit at the National September 11th Memorial and Museum. (1)(5)

Jane Everhart the communications director for the New York chapter of American Atheists who said she was traumatized by the events of 9/11 that she personally saw and experienced while there during attacks, said that she would not be able to visit the Memorial Museum as long as the cross is included in the exhibit, and derided the cross as nothing more than “ugly piece of wreckage” that “does not represent anything … but horror and death.”. (1)

Another example of the Christian Cross being offensive is from Paganus on Yahoo Answers who declares in regard to the Christian Cross:

“I don’t fear it. It merely offends me. Why do Jews fear the swastika? It is the same thing.” (3)

The normal mode of operation for atheists is to demand Christian Crosses to be removed from were ever a Christian Cross is located and to threaten costly lawsuits against whomever owns the property that the Christian Cross is located on. Just Bing or Google “atheist Christian Cross” for thousands of examples of atheists wanting Christian Crosses to be removed from public view be the Christian Cross on public, government, or private land. (5)

Why atheists want to remove the Christian Cross from public view as Lost Avenger states:

“BECAUSE WE JUST WANT TO PISS OFF CHRISTIANS…” (4)

The Christian Cross is Symbol of Love and Deliverance

The “World Trade Center Cross is a cross-shaped steel beam found amid the wreckage in the days following the Sept. 11 terrorist attack and was a symbol of hope for many working on rescue and recovery there, so much so that the construction worker who discovered it believes he stumbled on to a miracle. (2)

The man who found the cross, Frank Silecchia, said he came across it on the morning of Sept. 13, 2001, after digging three bodies out from the rubble of the collapsed Twin Towers.

Silecchia believes that the World Trade Center cross is “not just a symbol of faith, but also a symbol of our freedom.” He also views the cross as a natural artifact from the Ground Zero site. (1)

Obviously the atheist Pangnus (just as thousands of other atheists) has no clue as to what the Christian Cross really means. For whatever reason be it because Pangnus (and thousands of other atheists) chose not to study about exactly what the Christian Cross actually means or Pangnus (and thousands of other atheists) has decided to suppress the truth about what the Christian Cross really stands for in civilization; either way, it is clear that Pangnus (as thousands of atheists) at this time in life chooses to suppress the truth about the Christian Cross’ given meaning regardless of if they believe in God or not.

Most atheists suppresses the truth about what is taught about Christ Jesus and His death on the cross. Christ Jesus’ death on the cross is the means in which your and my wrong doings (sins) are fully paid. Through Christ Jesus’ suffering and death on the cross, He fully paid the debt of death you and I owe to God for all of the sins we have done. “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23

Pangnus’ (and other atheists’) equivalence of the Christian Cross to a WWII German swastika is totally and diametrically inaccurate. The Christian Cross is a symbol of peace and offer of hope with a future eternal life in paradise with God. The WWII German swastika is a symbol of despair, death, and destruction. For anyone to equate the Christian Cross with a WWII German swastika is fully someone suppressing the truth.

“To whom can I speak and give warning? Who will listen to me? Their ears are closed so they cannot hear. The word of the LORD is offensive to them [atheists]; they find no pleasure in it.” Jeremiah 6:10 NIV

Many Atheists Teach that the Christian Cross is Offensive

Atheists want to remove the Christian Cross from view on private, public, and government land because they do not want to think about God and because they don’t want anything to remind them about God. Atheists want all religious symbols (especially Christian symbols like the Christian Cross) out of their view because atheists want to suppress the truth about the Christian Cross because they choose to suppress the truth since the truth about the Christian Cross offends them and they find it foolish that we Christians preach the truth about Christ Jesus, His death on the cross and His rising from death. 1 Corinthians 1:23

God Loves Atheists and Wants them to Love Him

“But God demonstrates His own love for us [including atheists] in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8

“Because of this, God in his wisdom said, ‘I will send them [the atheists] prophets and apostles, some of whom they [the atheists] will kill and others they [the atheists] will persecute.’” Luke 11:49 TNIV

God Warns Christians about Atheists

Jesus said; “Remember the word that I said unto you [my followers]: `The servant is not greater than his lord.’ If they [the atheists] have persecuted Me, they [the atheists] will also persecute you [my followers]; if they [the atheists] have kept My saying, they [the atheists] will keep yours [my followers] also.” John 15:20 TMB

Jesus also said; “But I know what kind of people you [atheists] are, and I know that you [atheists] have no love for God in your [atheistic] hearts.” John 5:42 GNT

And; “There is no fear of God before their [atheist] eyes.” Romans 3:18 ESV
